Arizona Running Camp (formerly called Elevate Running Camp) is held on the campus of Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona. It provides ideal training at 7000 feet elevation, crisp clear mountain air and great facilities. The mornings are cool and days are comfortably warm.

The camp is designed not as just a running camp but a running experience. Activities throughout the week keep the individual - whatever the running level - in mind. Camp counselors are experienced runners and counselors. We maintain a 1:10 ratio of counselors to campers to be sure everyone has personalized attention.

Campers stay in the cozy dorms at Northern Arizona University and dining is in the cafeteria which caters to all diets. Centrally located on campus, there is access to volleyball courts, basketball courts as well as grassy lawns to lounge around on during "down time". We even take some of our lecture sessions outside to enjoy the gorgeous temperate Flagstaff weather.

Each camper gets a t-shirt, 20 ounce Polar insulated water bottle, give-aways, and a personalized binder for handouts on every lecture session. Handouts include notes on the science and research on training; keys to workout effectiveness; injury prevention exercises; hill, speed and trail running techniques; information on nutrition and supplement facts and myths; mental training and motivation strategies and techniques the world class athletes and US Olympic and professional sports teams use; how to get faster; how to get stronger and more. The list is endless because topics are tailored to the interests of the campers. No two camps are identical!

Leisure time is scheduled to recover from workouts (2-3 per day) and for socialization as well as "alone" time to regenerate those batteries to get back at it. Workouts include 1-2 runs with alternative physical activities incorporated for cross-training. No worries about overdoing it though - we follow sound training principles of quality over quantity. You will not be subjected to a mega-mile approach. And we tailor workouts to the capacities of the campers - elite to novice - we'll make the workout just challenging enough!
