"Today's
Miles for Tomorrow's Runners"

Coach
Dean, Brett Epstein, KMS Athletic Director and Scott Sofsian,
KMS Assistant Principal
Well,
the “Today’s Miles for Tomorrow’s Runners”
Relay is in the books. Five teams, 40 runners showed up in
the chilly morning and finished the 50 mile (80k) relay around
the Kyrene Middle School track. The final figures are in;
it looks like we raised $4,030 for the track and cross-country
teams.
I have
to thank the very special sponsors: Performance Footwear,
Arizona Bread Company, Arizona Historical Foundation, Big
Stitch Embroidery, Einstein’s and RxRunning
for all the awards and prizes.
I also
thank all the volunteers (mostly my family) to make this happen.
I think I called in all my favors on this one, oh boy, I owe
them big time.
And last
but not least, I thank all the runners who braved the cold,
the distance and the dirt 400 meter track. Thank you all for
helping me celebrate my birthday exactly how I wanted to…
new friends, old friends, new acquaintances… runners
all.
